Dreaming of pursuing a PhD at a world-class Australian university with full funding and living support? The 2026 UWA-China PhD Research Scholarship is now opening soon, and it’s designed especially for outstanding applicants from the People’s Republic of China. This joint opportunity between the University of Western Australia (UWA) and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) could be your pathway to becoming a globally recognized researcher.

Why This Scholarship Stands Out?

The partnership between UWA and CSC makes this a unique, fully supported academic journey. UWA will waive 100% of tuition fees, while CSC provides a comprehensive funding package that includes:

  • A generous living allowance
  • Return airfare to Australia
  • Overseas student health insurance (OSHC)

This combination ensures that you can focus entirely on your PhD research without financial worries.

Research Opportunities Across All Areas

One of the best parts? The scholarship is open across all research areas. Whether you’re in engineering, health sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, or humanities, you can apply—provided your research proposal aligns with academic priority areas agreed upon by CSC and UWA.

Scholarship Value and Availability

The scholarship package is valued at AUD $39,600 to $52,600 per annum, covering tuition, living, and essential expenses. For 2026, only 20 scholarships are available, making this a highly competitive and prestigious program.

Eligibility Requirements
