LeakSecret has also intercepted what they term as the fake polls which two candidates in the race to become the NPP flagbearer have supposedly sponsored.

New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially declared that it will be voting out its flagbearer come January next year and although former Vice President of Ghana and 2024 Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is heavily favourite to win the race, other candidates have also thrown their hats but two opinion polls so far released have reduced their hopes in the race.

But in effort to play the optics game and score a point of concern the two candidates (names withheld), have rushed to sponsor their own polls that will reach the news stand tomorrow and this has been discovered by Ghanaweb.

It is interesting to note that both these sponsored polls are hitting the news simultaneously with one of them indicating a commanding over 50 per cent lead to one of the candidates and the other sponsored by a new entry to the race claiming a huge surge by the new one and a narrative that the race is now has become a three-horse race.

These candidates have already negotiated with certain media houses to get front pages of both newspapers and websites as their game plan as of Monday, July 7, 2025.

The two candidates separately through which they arranged these solicited publications have been involved in collisions of their polls via some publications.

During an in-house gossip session, Information sources indicate that both presidential hopefuls have got it unwittingly planned that the covers to various publications being published tomorrow in one of the pro-NPP dailies bear conflicting poll numbers.

One source says that among the paid agencies on this bogus survey is the Future Governance Analytics Project (FGAP) and the sponsored poll is reported to be the first survey done by them.

Also, among the hired companies that conducted the arch-chair research to feature one of the candidates, there is a company called Sanity Africa.

Remarkably, the firm seems to have been established to perform this specific task because the date of establishing its web presence was two months ago.

A source close to both contenders has informed Ghanaweb that the survey is sponsored in their favour by the two aspirants in order to counter the increasing feeling that Dr Bawumia is the right choice to represent the NPP as the flagbearer in the 2020 general elections.

Polls that have been conducted in recent times like the one conducted by Musah Dankwa Global InfoAnalytics have destroyed so much hope in the minds of our people, and therefore, as one of our campaigners has claimed, there was need to also give a response to this poll so that our people would have it in their heads that this is just a single poll among the many others that will be done by a lot of electioneering firms, and that therefore, there is so much to look forward to after all.
