President John Dramani Mahama has made a key appointment by bringing on board, the erstwhile assistant of the former NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a Senior Presidential staffer, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.
Rosemond Obeng, the commonly referred to as the Mother of the People, has been given an appointment after rescinding her membership to NPP and joined NDC a few days before the coming December 2024 Election.
Rosemond Obeng, a former National NPP TESCON coordinator was thus tagged, alongside others, a betrayer by the NPP considering that other high-profile names such as Alhaji Inusah Issaka, Kakra Essamuah, Frances Essiam etc., among others, had crossed the party lines between the two dominant parties in Ghana since its inception in 1992.
The current NDC Senior Presidential staffer who controls the Government Communications business in the office of Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the minister in charge of Government Communications, functions in the Jubilee House.
On few days before the December 2024 elections, Rosemond Obeng who was said to be close to the then NPP flagbearer started a media campaign smear on her former boss after her move to join the then opposition.
In a late 2024 interview on the State of Affairs show on GHOne, Rosemond Obeng argued that, going by her experience with the then NPP flagbearer, he did not have the guts and the leadership traits that can be able to run the affairs of Ghana.
We need vital leadership, and I know that such cannot be furnished by my father and ex-boss. Bad leadership means getting bad results, output and performance, she added.
In 2022 Rosemond on social media shared how she used to be helped by her former Boss Dr Bawumia to further her studies and thanked him.
